Stroke and Turn Videos
Here’s a link to the USA Swimming training videos if you would like to review them (and get a better look than was on the recorded zoom from last year). These videos are old, so they do not have the update on breaststroke and backstroke. Here are the differences:
- Backstroke
- The swimmer can now be fully submerged at the finish
- CKSDC has the following rule difference for the backstroke turn (similar to KHSAA): The initiation of the turning action shall be accomplished by a single-arm or simultaneous double-arm pull, or in the absence of such pulls, by an upward or downward, underwater movement of the head. After the initiation of the turning action, no additional arm pulls may be started; however, kicking and gliding actions are permitted.
- Breaststroke
- All arm and leg movements must be simultaneous, but no longer need to be in the same horizontal plane.
